On the 17th of February The Kickstart Portal, AMMO and the DWP came together to host their first virtual recruitment fair! This turned out to be a huge success. With over 250 unemployed young people attending and over 600 business, we created over 1000 job referrals on the day!
The aim of the day was for each young person to discuss their career ambitions virtually with one of our mentors where after they would be directed towards available roles that best suited their skill sets. We now have a greater understanding of the candidate pool and what employment they are seeking, this has helped us to make specific recommendations which has led to a huge increase in job referrals and ultimately employment.
During the day we spoke with young people from all different walks of life; some fresh out of university looking to ger back into work, others who haven’t been given that initial opportunity to get on the career ladder, and the feedback from these young people has been that the Job fair was greatly beneficial to them.
We found IT and Social Media roles proved to be the most popular, alongside marketing and administration. From the data collected we highly recommend any employers recruiting in these industry areas consider a remote employee, remember you only have until the end of February to have a candidate referred so this could be your last opportunity to benefit.
Due to the success and popularity of the previous Job Fair, we will be hosting another on the 24th February 2022 and we would like you to be involved!

We will be advertising your position to interested young people who have shown an interest in your industry specifically, with no further work necessary from you as we will be in contact after the event. If they show interest, we send them the link and other information to apply. It is that simple and the uptake has been much larger than we initially thought!
